I got about 350, and would really like to convert them to keys.

10:1 would be fine by me.

I don't know about folks rambling about how it will "make the rares less rare". I mean, right now thousands of chests have been opened, and zero reports of a new mini or unique skin. A few very rare or very good skins that you could only get from halls, maybe.

Adding more keys to the pool would only decrease the price that keys are traded for, right?

Eternal Blade was once called "rarest of rarest" valued at more than pandas and possibly equal with kanaxai.

then zaishen chests came in..

eternals are now 100k+160e and theyr still not getting bought.

as long as you increase the quantity from 1 (3 weeks ago) to i say 20 or 25, still not alot but prices DROPPPPED drastically,
same goes for all high end wpns.

I have a modest 406 Tournament Tokens. I did the same thing as another guy and got LSH on my title character, then unlocked the rest using PvP. I wasn't sure whether or not my balth increased after hitting my then-23k cap (now 28k), and I honestly didn't want to find out. So I spammed up Tolkano ever so often.

Then the Zaishen Chest came out. When I talked with Tolkano for my first keys, I could have SWORN that it was a bug that Tournament Reward Points were accepted and not Tokens. I proclaimed that loudly to the guild, in fact. I considered my Tokens to be both a guild stock for ATs should we ever start doing them (still not there, working on it), and as a "deposit" of my faction for some certain later purpose. And now those stacks of Tokens are rather...pointless.

As stated above, nearly every PvPer would gladly take 10:1 rate. That's 50% Depreciation, which in the economic sense makes NO sense to accept. Yet we want SOMETHING to do with the Tokens we will never all use (I've got a low total, people have scads of the things). If the sticking point is that they're called "Tournament Tokens", just change them to "Zaishen Tokens" and implement 10:1. Call it imbalanced all you want, it's fair considering the amount of time spent without any other way to use the faction.

What you are all failing to take into account, is that in the case of someone who had unlocked everything already, and before Zaishen Keys, there was nothing in the game to do with faction except for buy Tournament Tokens.

So that regardless of whether you had any interest in Tournaments, you only had two choices when it came to the faction that you earned, let it all be wasted, or trade it for Tournament Tokens.

I, for one, had no interest in tournaments, but I wasn't going to just let all my faction go to waste, so folks like me and many others either stopped playing PvP, our bought Tournament Tokens in the hope that some day Anet might give us a better use for our faction. It was the only option Anet made available to us. It isn't like we were dying to enter hundreds of tournaments one day, and later changed our mind, and so we were stuck with tokens. It was the ONLY option for faction. Get it?

Now that Anet has finally created a faction sink for the increasing number of players that will be fully unlocked and at their max faction cap as this game ages, people want to be able to use their surplus faction (Tokens) for that purpose. The same way that it is used today with new faction (traded for keys). It doesn't seem that unreasonable.

If Anet had provided ANY other use for that faction before now, then that is what we would have done with our faction at the time. If we could have turned it into Flames of Balthazar, Gold, Candy Canes, ANYTHING, then we would have. We already spent enough of it to unlock every skill, rune, weapon, mod, hero, etc. in the game, regardless of having any need for them. We'd have traded that faction for anything. Anet only gave us Tournament Tokens.

Reworked the reward system for tokens based on pricing and quality of the items. Also, added extra for variety and fairness. 1 Token for a Flask of Firewater is far too cheap for a 3 minute drink.

Flame of Balthazar awards the user of the product: 1,000 Balthazar faction. For those who don't wish to purchase skills in the online store (or can't) and isn't skilled enough or have the time to earn Balthazar faction, this is an alternative to trade 3 tokens (which they can buy from players) to get. If we made this at 1 Token, players would unlock all skills far too quickly. It should be a lazy way out, but at a decent fair price, not one that is too unbalanced.

Zaishen Key is appropriate for those who wish to get keys, and perhaps other items by buying tokens off other players. Also, if a person stores up tokens for other things, and changes their mind.

The Celestial Sigil could be used as a team effort, since, not everyone PvE's and makes gold in Guild Wars, so why not give them an option to earn a new Guild Hall based off Balthazar Faction itself, sort of as if it was the gold of the PvP community?

Nobody that knows anything said that, unless they were selling one of the eternal blades at the time. They dropped from a reward chest, pandas and kanaxxi do not.

I unlocked all the skills in the game by earning Balthazar faction or buying the skill in PvE. Are you going to call me a liar too, when I have earned 1,469,216 Balthazar faction total? For Christ's sake, my Warrior has all the elite skills on her. Not to mention every skill for Warrior, Ranger, and Assassin. Try buying that in the Online store.
